Golf Crawford Auto Service

If you're looking for a reliable and honest mechanic, look no further than Golf Crawford Auto Service. Not only are they skilled in what they do, but unlike many other mechanics, they are transparent and don't just try to upsell you or make money. My husband and I have been having vehicle issues due to a bad Hyundai engine, and not only did Golf Crawford catch the issue (which our old mechanic did not), but they also walked us through the process and took the time to discuss our options in detail. 10/10 recommend this place!

I needed brake service and specifically picked this shop based on the highly praiseworthy Google reviews. I am now posting a review in the event it’s helpful to others looking for a shop run by honest, competent and friendly staff. Chris, the shop owner and service advisor, exemplifies what a customer would want in a shop owner and advisor. He clearly and concisely explained the repairs my car needed currently and what to be aware of in the future. In addition, he was forthright and upfront about the costs and I wasn’t surprised by any new costs or necessary repairs after they started the work. Furthermore, the work was done expertly and efficiently. I will definitely bring my car back to Chris and his shop again.

I've been taking my car here for years. I always feel safe and comfortable when Chris is handling the services. He is communicative, transparent about timing/prices, and I never feel like I'm being conned into something I don't need, which is huge when you know nothing about cars lol. My entire family gets service done here. Definitely check it out if you need a neighborhood auto shop!

If you’re looking for a mechanic you can actually trust, stop searching and go straight to Golf Crawford Auto Service. Chris and his team are hands-down the best in the business. From the moment you walk in, you can tell this isn’t your typical auto shop. They take the time to explain everything clearly, tell you what actually needs to be done (and what doesn’t), and treat you like a person—not just another ticket. What really sets them apart is their honesty and consistency. You never feel upsold, pressured, or in the dark. Just straightforward, high-quality work at fair prices—every single time. And somehow, they always find a way to come through when you need them most, even when they’re busy. They’ve been a trusted name in the Evanston area for decades, and it shows in the way they operate and the loyalty they’ve built with customers. Chris runs an incredible shop, and his team reflects that standard across the board—professional, knowledgeable, and genuinely good people. It’s rare to find a place like this. Once you go to Crawford Golf Auto, you won’t go anywhere else.

Chris and the Golf Crawford team were amazing!! It was my first time being serviced at a new auto repair shop and it is rare to find a shop that you know you can really put your trust into. I'm sure we've all had experiences with auto shops trying to take advantage of a good thing. These guys? They will not steer you wrong. They are authetic, straight up and honest on needed repairs and upgrades. Chris is also willing to work with you and the service needed within reason so it's sustainable on both ends. This business is run with integrity and this shop is a diamond in the rough - go with them - you wont be dissapointed. Woohoo!
